Face-to-Face Course Terms and Conditions

1. Confidentiality

The effectiveness of the simulation scenarios relies partly on the element of surprise and this will be degraded for future groups if you discuss the specifics, although we would encourage you to discuss the problem solving approaches and other lessons you have learned on the course. By completing registration you will be committed to not discussing the performance of other participants in the a simulation course nor divulging the technical details of the simulation scenarios used.

2. Cancellations

The following applies only to face-to-face delivered courses.

Cancellations must be received at CSDS thirty (30) days in advance of the course in order for a refund to be processed.
Requests to transfer course registration to a future date must be received at CSDS thirty (30) days in advance of the course, and will be approved subject to course availability and impact on the first registered course.
Refunds will not be granted if a participant fails to attend scheduled training.
If a participant is absent from a planned course for medical reasons, a medical certificate should be provided to CSDS, wherein CSDS will transfer course registration to a future date, within twelve (12) months of the course date.
Full payment is required prior to the commencement of the course.
A confirmation letter will be sent to all attendees registered for the course.
CSDS reserves the right to cancel planned courses and symposia even at short notice, in particular if;
- The minimum number of participants has not been reached, or
- Other external conditions for course or symposia change.

3. Media Release Authority

During your participation in our face-to-face courses, still photographs may be taken and video recordings may be made, which at times the CSDS may show for educational, research and administration purposes or for marketing or promotion to the health care professional community. By completing registration you authorise CSDS the right to use any course recordings for the above purposes. You will not be specifically identified by name unless otherwise approved.

4. PHTLS Participants

Failure to complete the pre-exam 4 weeks prior to course will result in removal from the course panel and forfeit of all courses fees. Participant will not be entitled to transfer to another course. Re-application requires re-registration and re-payment of course fees (minus text cost).

The information provided by users of the CSDS website may be used for the purpose of research, quality control and administration.

This information is classified as confidential information. Confidential information may be reproduced in the form of participant progress reports and participant test results.

CSDS reserves the right to provide reports containing confidential information to parties who have a vested interest in the information contained within these reports as it relates to the academic integrity of the course. This information may not be passed on to a third party without the express written permission of the person to whom the information relates.

Access to confidential information may be withdrawn if a party in receipt of confidential information is found to be in breach of this regulation.

1. Participants

In our system we offer a participant progress report that show specific participant result and progress, these may be used to monitor progress of participants.
We also offer de-identified completion reports that may be used as supporting material for a business case or to analyse demographic data.
With consideration of the privacy policy we reserve the right to generate reports at any time.
Each course we host has a Course Director that has the right to generate these reports at any time.

2. Facilitators

When generating a report a Course Facilitator can’t alter the data or information in the report.
The reports that a Course Facilitator has access to must not be shown to anyone else without the participant’s permission.
We reserve the right to remove an Course Facilitators account at any time it they don’t follow these rules.
