The Safety and Quality Education Program (SQEP) is a comprehensive resource hub dedicated to all aspects of safety and quality.
Developed collaboratively by the Clinical Skills Development Service (CSDS), Metro North Health and Clinical Governance Safety, Quality and Risk (CGSQR), SQEP provides a wide range of online courses covering vital topics such as:
- Risk management
- Clinical incident management
- Communication
- Quality improvement
- Accreditation
- National standards
CGSQR and CSDS recognise the challenges that healthcare professionals and patients can encounter within the healthcare system. Adverse events not only incur substantial costs for the healthcare system but also profoundly affect patients’ lives.
SQEP has been designed as a Queensland Health tool to support the enhancement of safety and quality processes. It achieves this by streamlining access to critical information, addressing identified training deficiencies, and providing an array of resources.
In an exciting development, SQEP is launching a podcast! This series of nine episodes aims to demystify our national healthcare standards and clarify the strategic readiness of clinical areas for short-notice accreditation assessments.
