CSDS welcomes the Queensland Digital Academy

Queensland Digital Academy at CSDS

Clinical Skills Development Service (CSDS) would like to warmly welcome the Queensland Digital Academy (QDA) to our centre, located at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Herston. Just like CSDS, the QDA are hosted by Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS) and are tasked with supporting both MNHHS and the larger statewide Queensland Health (QH) clinical community.

The QDA has been hard at work setting up a substantial base camp here at CSDS in one of our specially fitted training rooms. The CSDS and QDA teams are working tirelessly to open the doors for the first onboarding sessions commencing early March 2019.

With an ever increasing rate of technology being adopted across the health industry, and the digital health movement advancing quickly, QH has recognised that there is a growing need to develop digital literacy within our workforce. This will be achieved through training programs that target new technologies being implemented, such as the new integrated electronic medical record (ieMR).

In answer to this growing need the QDA was formed in part with the ‘Digital Metro North Strategy’ (MN32) and in partnership with Clinical Excellence Queensland and eHealth Queensland. QDA are focused on creating a digitally literate workforce for QH. Through the Queensland Digital Academy and MN32, QH will expand the digital capability and ultimately deliver a more connected, compassionate and seamless healthcare system.

As part of our ongoing support of the QDA, CSDS is dedicated to assisting wherever possible. This includes upgrading training equipment for ieMR, as well as incorporating other new technologies and innovations into our simulation education. We look forward to forging ahead with the QDA, together we are here to support our clinicians, encourage growth, innovation and help build a stronger QH workforce for the future.
