The Clinical Skills Development Service (CSDS) has launched a brand-new quarterly magazine called STaR (Simulation, Training and Research). The magazine replaces our old newsletter and offers updates on important developments in simulation, education and the latest activities at CSDS.
The STaR concept has recently been used more frequently since the CSDS celebrated its 10 year anniversary since opening. We like to refer to our Pocket Centre collaborations as stars, evidenced by many presentations where the Pocket Centre sites are reflected as stars on a map of Queensland. At CSDS we celebrate Simulation Providers across the State, this magazine demonstrates the fantastic and innovative simulation, education and research activities supporting healthcare.
The first edition features the theme “Breaking new ground”. It looks at how simulation has been used in the move to the new Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, as well as some of the exciting advances in the centre including the participant journey, technological innovations, our ground-breaking research and our new courses. STaR is now available, so if you’d like your very own copy, contact CSDS at CSDS-Admin@health.qld.gov.au.
