QSCIS Services

Overview

The Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service (QSCIS) provides specialist support to people aged over 16 years who live in Queensland and northern New South Wales and;

  • Have a spinal cord injury (SCI) from trauma such as an accident
  • Have a SCI from non-trauma causes such as surgery or a medical

QSCIS has provided specialist rehabilitation services for over 30 years.

Once a referral to QSCIS has been made, you are linked with the ‘all of life’ service.

QSCIS provides support for people with SCI through:

  • Supporting early management and rehabilitation after SCI
  • Helping you anytime by giving information and advice about equipment, support services, health issues, work and recreation and many other parts of your life
  • Supporting you wherever you may live. We can be contacted by phone, email or video calls
  • Providing support for your family and friends
  • Educating and supporting service providers on what to consider when helping you  

Inreach support for newly injured people in an acute or rehabilitation setting​.

40 bed inpatient specialist rehabilitation for SCI in Queensland.

Community service providing lifelong support and advice.

Assists with transition from hospital to the community after a new SCI​.

Provides medical reviews as needed with key and specialist clinics​.
