Overview
The Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service (QSCIS) provides specialist support to people aged over 16 years who live in Queensland and northern New South Wales and;
- Have a spinal cord injury (SCI) from trauma such as an accident
- Have a SCI from non-trauma causes such as surgery or a medical
QSCIS has provided specialist rehabilitation services for over 30 years.
Once a referral to QSCIS has been made, you are linked with the ‘all of life’ service.
QSCIS provides support for people with SCI through:
- Supporting early management and rehabilitation after SCI
- Helping you anytime by giving information and advice about equipment, support services, health issues, work and recreation and many other parts of your life
- Supporting you wherever you may live. We can be contacted by phone, email or video calls
- Providing support for your family and friends
- Educating and supporting service providers on what to consider when helping you
Inreach support for newly injured people in an acute or rehabilitation setting.
40 bed inpatient specialist rehabilitation for SCI in Queensland.
Community service providing lifelong support and advice.
Assists with transition from hospital to the community after a new SCI.
Provides medical reviews as needed with key and specialist clinics.
